Artists are the real architects of change,

not the political legislators who implement change after the fact.

- William S. Burroughs (1914-1997)

Amêdo Modiki was born in 1979 (Kinshasa, DRC) and graduated from the Kinshasa Fine Arts School in 2002. Since the very beginning of his career, he has been questioning the role of the masters of art in his own creation.

By using different techniques and sources of inspiration, Amêdo looks for a better definition of his pictorial expression and develops his own style. Rather than addressing directly social or political issues, he prefers to embody a vision of constructive dynamics and innovation in his works. Through this path, he transforms art into a sensitive tool. He wishes to induce a positive manner of thinking and inspiration in both common people’s and their leaders' minds.

During the past decade, Amêdo has exhibited in the DRC. Today, his unique and promising creations are attracting more and more international collectors such as Michael Piette.
