Born in 1963 (Kinshasa, DRC) Kitoko is a Congolese artist specialized in wildlife painting. He spent his childhood gazing at animals of the Kinshasa zoo, a popular attraction supervised by his father. During his observations, Kitoko developed a profound interest in African fauna and for its preservation.

Through his work, Kitoko reminds us of all common traits that humans share with animals and especially with the great apes. By using an impressively large range of colors and hues, the artist prefers to express emotions rather than a realistic rendering. Using vivid colors, he highlights his connection with his motherland where the natural heritage is too often forgotten.

The omnipresent feeling of kindness and love in Kitoko’s work translates perfectly his compassionate way of acting on the behalf of Nature!
